I wonder how many PC gamers are going to put up with the gold fees...

They don't want to play with console gamers anyway. People who haven't struggled through the trials of building and trouble-shooting a PC, with a shitty OS and broken drivers, don't have the right to share packets of data with them.

What I want to know with these titles is who does the hosting? If it's the same as it is with the Xbox I can't see many PC only owners wanting to pay for the privilege of having games on relatively small maps with low numbers of players.

Microsoft usually doesn't make too many missteps but this is a huge one.

Halo2 Vista only as well. Hahahahaha no-one cares about the game.

It won't work anyway. Was it not Quake III that let Dreamcast users play against PC users?

Analogue vs Mouse and keyboard = lolz

Yeah, but the DC controller was crap.
360 controller vs keyboard+mouse, however, would be a much more level playing field. I'd still put my money on k+m though...

Daft innit. You could buy an Xbox, a copy of the game AND a year's gold sub for less than it would cost you to buy a copy of vista and the game.

I don't know about that. I'm starting to take issue with the 360 pad. I find the dead zone on the analogue sticks is "widening". Also, they're not returning to neutral like they should. Very often I'll be pinned to the wall in Vegas when my character will lean around the corner without me touching the stick. Caused more than a few deaths.

Similarly, if I'm playing a beat-'em-up on the dogshit d-pad, the 360 may read a stick movement that I'm not actually making - and this will override my own commands.

I've had this with three pads now, and I'm less than impressed. I was beginning to wonder if this is a result of overusing the L3 R3 "buttons". Lost Planet, in particular is heavy on them, having to click the stick in to duck, then twist it to jump to the side.

Sorry for the 2 year old bump but some of you guys might be having problems with the Games For Windows LIVE store in Windows XP.

It needs the hot fix but it always gos to the english language update, in the second and third page there are updates in most of the European languages...

Update fix here

Some Microsoft games are getting released on Steam

Age of Empires III: Complete Collection

Fable - The Lost Chapters

Fable III

Microsoft removed the game store from the Windows client.

Is it me or Microsoft trying to bury the Games for Windows Live quietly and just keeping the DRM side of things?!

I wouldn't blame them. "Bad idea, executed poorly" is the phrase that comes to mind.

I think they've been trying to bury it for about 5 years.

I know, but they sure are trying harder lately... All I can say is that the 2 games I bought from them where pricing errors (Age of Empires III Complete for 10 MSP and Viva Pinata for about the same MSP).

The rest of the store is/was just completly overpriced...
